Sprout Artisan Bakery
Fortitude Valley
Sprout Artisan Bakery has opened in Fortitude Valley's James Street precinct providing freshly baked pastries and hand-crafted sourdough breads.
Tucked away on the corner of James and Roberston Streets, on the ground floor of a charming heritage-listed building, this is the first bricks and mortar venue for the small Brisbane bakery.
From humble beginnings in the backstreets of Salisbury where they bake their breads and treats, to peddling pastries at the Rocklea Markets and providing some of Brisbane's favourite cafes with freshly baked goods, Sprout has gained a loyal following.
A visit to their retail store and it's not hard to see why, with flaky pastries, fruit danishes and delectable tarts on offer, as well as artisanal loaves of bread: rye, seeded, wholemeal, spelt and classic sourdough.
Sweet tooths will have a hard time deciding with an assortment of treats on offer, from baklava scrolls and apple danishes to raspberry crumble brioche and delicious croissants such as almond, chocolate and twice-baked croissants filled with peanut brittle cream, housemade peanut butter and raspberry jam. topped with toasted peanuts.
Good to know - Sprout's loyal customers can still purchase pastries and more at the bakery's stall in Aisle 5 of the Rocklea Markets every Saturday morning from 6am to 12pm.
