The Biltong & Jerky Shop

Moorooka

Updated: Jul 19, 2022

The Biltong & Jerky Shop is a little slice of South Africa found along Beaudesert Road in Moorooka, specialising in South African groceries, boerewors, biltong and beef jerky.

Shelves are lined with imported popular brands like Ouma breakfast rusks, Bakers biscuits, Koo guava halves, Freshpak rooibos tea, Mrs Balls chutney, Glenryk pilchards and Kariba kapenta dried fish; while fridges are filled with boerewors (sausages), silverfish and South African soft drinks.

The Jerky Nuts

At the rear of the store is a small counter where you can order a well-brewed coffee and perhaps sample some biltong or beef jerky in exotic flavours like chakalaka, peri peri, Moroccan and safari.

In addition, there’s a good selection of South African staples like legumes, maize meal and fufu mix, as well as miscellaneous items like cast iron potjies.
