Iris Rooftop

Fortitude Valley

Updated: Jun 08, 2025

Iris is a chic Spanish-inspired rooftop bar and restaurant located sky high at the top of Hotel X in Fortitude Valley.

Inspired by the Mediterranean coast from Beirut to Barcelona, guests enter via a grand entrance of exposed stonework to a vision of blooming wisteria vines, olive trees and twinkling lights and plush decor in shades of Spanish-inspired plum and indigo, rose and gold.

With breathtaking, uninterrupted views of Brisbane's city skyline, Fortitude Valley and beyond, Iris also features a luxury restaurant space and a boutique private dining room.

The Spanish-inspired menu derives from the regions of Spain, with dishes designed to share, while the bar menu features indulgent cocktails, premium wines, spirits and beer.

For tapas, there's patatas bravas with spicy sauce & saffron aioli; cider-glazed chorizo; lamb empanada with chimichurri verde & lime crema; Cantabrian anchovy fillets on migas bread with crème fraîche; and grilled tiger prawns with pimnto pepper dressing.

Raciones (heartier dishes) include seafood & chicken paella; Spanish style roasted chicken with grilled sweet corn salsa & chimichurri rojo; Adobo spiced lamb shoulder with smoky eggplant, coriander & green onion dressing; and Barramundi with green bean sofrito, artichoke & black olive.

The Spanish theme also permeates the cocktail menu, with signature cocktails such as Rosé Sangria. Iberian Dreams, Ole!, The Sun Also Rises and El Matador, and there's also a smattering of Spanish wines in the wine list.

Good to know - On the ground floor of Hotel X, you'll find French restaurant Bisou Bisou by the owners of Iris - the Ghamem Group (Donna Chang, Boom Boom Room Izakaya, Blackbird and Byblos).
