Tarragindi

Bne Baracca (formerly Bruno's) is a charming cafe housed in an old corner store in Tarragindi, serving specialty coffee from Sydney’s Single Origin Roasters and Melbourne’s Dukes Coffee Roasters and Padre Coffee (the latter providing the cafe's house blend).

This sunny, corner café (perched on the corner of Cracknell Road and Laura Street) has retained some of its old-world charm – think lead light windows and weatherboard walls – while adding some modern touches.  Little tables fill the footpath and inside the café which also includes a quintessential communal table.

The all day menu ranges from classic breakfast fare like avocado on toast or bacon and eggs to more inspired dishes such as brioche French toast with banana ice-cream, dulce de leche and short crust crumble or beetroot omelette with goats’ cheese and walnuts.

You’ll also find pulled pork croissants, kimchi fried rice (with broccoli, almonds and broken eggs) and rice paper duck rolls (cucumber, kewpie mayo, avocado and nam jim) on the menu.

There’s a selection of sweet treats on hand like mini red velvet loaves, walnut fudge brownies and New York baked cheesecake. Besides coffee, there’s Mayde organic tea, Budd chai, hot chocolate, milkshakes and smoothies.

The cafe is child-friendly (kids can nosh on egg on toast, avo on toast of French toast with ice-cream) as well as dog-friendly. There’s a small playground and dog park conveniently located nearby at Tarragindi Recreation Reserve.
