La Mexicana is a colourful Mexican street food and cocktail bar nestled in a tiny charming cottage at the base of the cliffs at Howard Smith Wharves.

Occupying Citrus House, one of HSW's charming event spaces, La Mexicana is helmed by chef Louis Tikaram, who whips up traditional dishes inspired by his travels in Mexico and LA.

Take a seat on the garden terrace where tables are covered in bright patterned tablecloths or on the adjacent lawns and kick back with a tequila, mezcal or cocktail, and a bite to eat from the concise ever-changing menu.

Feast on the likes of street corn with queso fresco, chilli, cilantro & lime or guacamole and chips, as well as delicious house tacos (fish, chicken or lamb) or plates of lamb barbacoa with Spanish rice and salsa de arbol, followed by a refreshing watermelon with fresh lime and tajin.

For drinks, you can enjoy a beer such as Corona, sangria, selection of margaritas, tequilas and mezcal or, for something non-alcoholic, a Mexican soda or soft drink.

Need to know - All orders are taken digitally at the table and are delivered as they are ready. La Mexicana is a pop-up so won't be there forever!
