Swift Espresso

Paddington

Updated: Sep 17, 2024

Swift Espresso is a charming light-filled café that occupies an old corner store tucked away in the back streets of Paddington.

Patrons can nab a sunny window seat or a stool in the side courtyard and relax with a top-notch coffee or tea and some home-baked treats or delicious light breakfast or lunches.

On the concise all-day menu are pastries (chocolate or ham and cheese croissants and danishes) from Le Sebastien bakery, premise-baked sweet or savoury muffins (think apple crumble or blueberry), as well as a healthy, home-made muesli, fruit and yoghurt bowl, banana bread and thick-cut fruit toast.

Lunch-style options include divine quiches such as pumpkin and feta or quiche lorraine and salads such as Thai quinoa with ginger and peanut dressing, daily wraps and toasties.

On the counter are jars of home-baked cookies (muesli, choc chip or white choc/macadamia) and sweet treats include brownies with flavours like triple choc, apple crumble or raspberry white chocolate or pecan and honey slices.

Swift serves outstanding full-bodied coffee from local Brisbane Q Roasters, along with a range of premium earth loose-leaf teas (also from Q Roasters), and fragrant Prana Chai masala, as well as one of Brisbane's best ever (pink) babycinos that adults will love, too - steamed milk with pomegranate syrup, topped with hundreds and thousands.

Meanwhile cold drinks include bottles of spiced pear and bitters, ginger beer and Phoenix organic cola.

Nice to know - Swift Espresso is dog-friendly, with a shady hitching spot and water bowl outside the front door.
