Brisbane's Gin Bars

Updated: Jan 24, 2025

From the classic G & T to an exotic array of gin-inspired cocktails, Brisbane has a fine selection of gin bars on offer. Sample rare international juniper gins, G & High Tea or house-stilled artisan gins at these 9 diverse yet sophisticated gin bars/distilleries:

A charming cafe by day and enchanted gin lounge by night, Nosferatu Distillery is set inside a fairy-lit warehouse in Bowen Hills. The romantic industrial space is the perfect spot to enjoy expertly brewed espresso supplied by boutique coffee roaster Adore Coffee, as well as sample the distillery's small batch gin collection. Drinks are dispensed from a vintage caravan, well stocked with an array of gins (including other boutique brands), along with a curated selection of Australian wines, spirits and craft beers.
This gin bar and distillery can be found nestled at the base of The Capital Apartments in South Brisbane. Inside, the decor is speakeasy-style with dimly-lit rooms furnished with comfy couches and book shelves, where patrons can sample over 100 artisanal gins from Australia and beyond, including local boutique botanicals like Winston Quinn (Fortitude Valley), Imbibis (Ipswich), Fortune (Noosa Heads), and Laceys Hill (Moreton Bay) - where Eleven Bridges' head distiller, John Bradbury, earned his credentials.
The charming 1920’s gin and wine bar occupies an historic Fortitude Valley hidey-hole off bustling Wickham St.A world away from the gritty streets outside, Proud Henry is cosy and candlelit, with wood-panelled bar, jazz, bentwood chairs, art deco chandeliers, dining/drinking room with stunning oak table and a charming little garden courtyard.
The funky gin and vodka distillery, bar and kitchen can be found in a converted warehouse that once hosted secret underground music parties in the industrial back streets of Milton. In keeping with its past, the massive indoor/outdoor split-level venue is a able to host live music gigs as well as art exhibitions, with the basement available to hire for everything from functions to exhibitions, music and product launches.
The Red Queen is a secret laneway cocktail bar and gin school tucked away in the century old heritage-listed Metro Arts Theatre building in Brisbane CBD. The ambient handmade-brick-walled bar features mermaids and lions at the entry, and a luxe eclectic aesthetic with steampunk lighting, black velvet gothic damask and a striking copper bar.
Covent Garden is a splendid botanical-themed bar and eatery with tropical rear garden in a colonial West End shop. The plant-filled oasis in the midst of bustling Boundary St specialises in gin and gin cocktails, with the house signature the G + High Tea – a 3-tier stand of savoury bar snacks and sweet delicacies served with a watering can of gin cocktail.
This stunning family-owned cellar door, gin distillery and function venue, steeped in old world charm, occupies a rustic converted warehouse in an industrial Albion side street. Step inside the door to find what the owners refer to as the 'farmstead', a gorgeous split level space featuring recycled wrought iron and stained glass windows
The rustic little beer and gin bar oozes warmth and hominess from its corner outpost on West End's Vulture Street. BOSC stands for bar of social conscience, meaning that 20% of bar profits go to charity but the goodwill extends environmentally to the fitout, most of it recycled or upcycled from used timber.
