Scrumptious Reads

Red Hill

Updated: May 26, 2020

Scrumptious Reads in Red Hill is not only a cute suburban book nook, it’s also an event space and a private dining room.

The quaint bookstore which was previously located on bustling James Street, has retreated to the homely suburb of Red Hill. The event space is located downstairs, with plenty of space to host a function, dinner or regular book club meetings – fittingly.

The aptly named, Scrumptious Reads is laden with culinary reads, although the bookstore does stock books of all genres.

Scrumptious Reads also stocks unique titles such as this ginormous publication from Copenhagen, Plethora Magazine. This unique publication is abundant with articles and gorgeous artworks that are designed to be pulled out and framed.

The bookstore has become a hub for avid readers, with regular events and meet-ups hosted by the owner. Look out for their Cookbook Club and Meet the Author evenings.

Naturally, the ‘tasty’ bookshop also sells local treats such as chocolates, honey, preserves and Yum Gelato. The gelato comes in all sorts of tasty flavours such as pistachio and pandan, and blueberry cheesecake.

Need to know – Street parking is available outside the store.
