The Simon And Garfunkel Story
Concert Hall Qpac
The Simon & Garfunkel Story is the fascinating tale of how two young boys from Queens, New York went on to become the world’s most successful music duo of all time.
Direct from sell out tours of the USA, UK & Europe and a sold-out season on London’s West End, the acclaimed production comes to Brisbane at the Concert Hall QPAC on Sunday August 26th.
Starting from their humble beginnings as 50s Rock n Roll duo Tom & Jerry, The Simon & Garfunkel Story takes you through all the songs and stories that shaped them, the dramatic split, their individual solo careers and ending with a stunning recreation of the legendary 1981 Central Park reunion concert.
Featuring 1960s photographs and film footage accompanied by a full band performing all their hits including Mrs Robinson, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Homeward Bound, Scarborough Fair, The Boxer, The Sound Of Silence and many more, this is a show not to be missed by any fan of the music and era.
The Simon & Garfunkel Story features UK performers Philip Murray Warson as Paul Simon and Charles Blythe as Art Garfunkel. Philip Murray Warson's performance credits include Piaf (Charing Cross Theatre), Manon/Sandra (National Theatre Studio) and Mr. Vertigo (Northwall Theatre). He has worked as musical director on the UK tour of Million Dollar Quartet and the West End production of One Man, Two Guvnors.
Charles Blythe graduated from Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and since then he has worked on numerous projects including Teechers, Tess Of The D’Urbervilles, (White Horse Theatre), The Post Office (U.K Commercial), HMS Pinafore (The King’s Head Theatre), Romeo and Juilet (The Complete Works).
