Royal Mail Hotel

Goodna

Royal Mail Hotel at Goodna is an historic hotel that on weekends is the centre of live blues'n'roots in South east Queensland.

The hotel began serving thirsty locals back in 1840 when it was one of the stopping points for the Cobb & Co. coaches travelling between Ipswich and Brisbane.

Since then, its location on the upper reaches of the Brisbane River have drawn folk from far and wide, and they have been hosting live blues 'n roots music every weekend for the past thirty one years.

This unassuming pub is currently the only venue in Australia to be awarded the 'Keeping the Blues Alive' award by The Blues Foundation of Memphis, Tennessee.

Featuring a warm wooden interior, a popular front verandah, and an outdoor beer garden beneath a sprawling fig tree, the venue especially comes alive on Saturday afternoons and evenings.

"The Mail" hosts ongoing live music acts, which has seen many talented blues 'n roots performers passing through and they are proud sponsors of The Blues Association of South East Queensland. The hotel kitchen serves hearty burgers, pizzas, fish and chips while the fully stocked bar serves a wide range of beer, wine and spirits.
