Pirate Ship Park
Flagstone
Pirate Ship Park in Flagstone is an adventure playground featuring Australia’s first mammoth “Intrepid” ship, the biggest in the country.
At over 18 metres in length, the ship has play activities on the upper and lower deck that encourage hours of social play, active play, cognitive play, role play and dramatic play.
Little deck mates can make their way onboard via stairs or climbing nets where they can gaze out through the binoculars and steer the ship to dry land. Keeping pirates at bay is easy with cannons placed in the stern and bow of the ship. A trip down the bannister bars or slide leads sailors to the lower deck where they will find a viewing port, treasure chest and lock, sleeping hammocks and play desks.
Other elements of this incredible playground include green island mounds where children can sit or rest and take in the monstrous ship. A double bay swing equipped with a classic seat and toddler seat encourages children to swing towards the sky.
In a nutshell - Complementing nearby Flagstone Adventure Park, this playground is filled with numerous play opportunities that motivate children and adults to play and use their imagination.
Nice to know - Designed for inclusive play, the ship has activities on every level that are catered to children of varying abilities.
Need to know - Pirate Ship Park can be found nestled between new homes in the first Pioneer and Conquest precincts.
