The Baristorian

Wavell Heights

THE BARISTORIAN HAS CLOSED IN OCTOBER 2023.

The Baristorian is a cute and charming community-conscious cafe located in the northern Brisbane suburb of Wavell Heights.

Offering sustainable coffee, alternative teas and unique gourmet refreshments, the Baristorian is well worth seeking out if in the neighbourhood.

Here at The Baristorian, sustainable coffee is sourced from Syndicate Espresso. There's also an interesting diverse range of alternative beverages sourced from local tea company Tea Please, Margaret River Chai Teas, Simara specialty lattes (turmeric, beetroot, matcha, butterfly pea), Kakadu Organic Bush Teas, Wattleseed hot chocolate and traditional lemonade to name a few.

The seasonal breakfast/lunch menu includes 8 hour slow-cooked Mayan pork pockets, classic Reuben sandwiches (house made corned beef, Swiss cheese, house made Russian dressing, sauerkraut and dill pickles), Buddha bowls (vegetarian) and fluffy pancakes (ginger crumb with berries and gelato). In the cabinet are house made cakes as well as savoury tarts and frittatas, including treats sourced from local outfits like The Pie Hole.

Nice to know - Barista meets historian here and the result is a cafe focussed on social responsibility - offering suspended coffee to those in need and supporting NT indigenous projects through product sales such as Bush Balm and Kakadu Teas.

Need to know - Street parking is available along Main Ave.
