Strangers' Restaurant
Parliament House
Enjoy an exquisite lunch or dinner served in the stunning Strangers' Restaurant, nestled with the heritage-listed Queensland Parliament House in Brisbane City.
From Wednesday to Friday, Queensland Parliament opens its doors to the public and invites visitors to dine in style in the grand, historic dining room, usually reserved for Members of Parliament and their guests.
A quintessential Queensland culinary experience, diners will indulge in delicious seasonal fare, made using the finest ingredients locally sourced. Select two or three courses from the monthly a la carte menu, or be led by Chef's choice and enjoy the five course tasting menu available.
Enticing entrees include the likes of Moreton Bay oysters, Mooloolaba prawns, Toowoomba ox cheek, and Sunshine Coast zucchini flower stuffed with artisan goat's cheese.
Mouthwatering mains range from seared snapper with roasted Queensland panzanella salad, and Darling Downs’ wagyu striploin with Lockyer Valley smoked potato puree and pan jus, to tarragon and ricotta tortellini with forest mushrooms and Mt Tamborine Tilsit cheese.
For dessert, there's Stanthorpe spiced apple shortcake with tonka bean ice-cream, or Towri Farm sheep’s milk cookies and cream ice-cream with rosella and vanilla floss. Alternatively, guests can select artisanal Queensland cheeses from the trolley.
Strangers' Restaurant is licensed with a fabulous selection of local boutique wines such as Clovely, Ballandean Estate and Sirromet, served along with Queensland craft beers like Ballistic, Green Beacon and Balter. In addition, there are well-known Australian and international drops on offer.
