The Bent Elbow
Stones Corner
THE BENT ELBOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED IN 2019.
A new watering hole has arrived in Stones Corner with the opening of The Bent Elbow craft beer and wine bar.
Located on Old Cleveland Road opposite the Stones Corner Hotel, the Bent Elbow is from the folks behind Jeremy's Bar & Bistro in the city (since closed). Like Jeremy's, this bar/bistro is casual and comfy yet stylish and sleek at the same time; with an indoor beer garden up front - think astro turf, outdoor folding furniture and hanging baskets of greenery - and exposed brick and dark timber in the rear.
There's twelve beers on tap including local brews like Betty by All Inn Brewing, Out & a Bout pale ale by Newstead Brewing and Mainstay Amber ale by Green Beacon Brewery; while the wine list is all Australian with the exception of a few NZ sav blancs.
Gastropub fare ranges from beef burgers served with shoestring fries and slow cooked lamb pie with chips to lemon brined chicken Maryland and rib eye on the bone with red wine sauce. There's plenty of pasta and pizza options too like the recommended Lambretta pizza (lamb, fetta, pumpkin and rocket).
If you're looking for a casual bite to eat, bar snacks include fried spiced chicken nibbles, balsamic glazed beef short ribs and coconut infused scallop ceviche on tortillas. Or you could just order dessert - the must try strawberry tart with mint leaves and balsamic vinegar ice-cream.
*Need to Know: The Bent Elbow is open for lunch and dinner Wednesday to Sunday with breakfast served on Saturday and Sunday only.
