Pinwheel Island Kids Cafe

Updated: Mar 09, 2025

Macgregor’s Pinwheel Island Kids Cafe is a fabulously bright and cheery space, boasting great food and super-fun play options.

Best suited to kids under seven (although older siblings are welcome), Pinwheel Island is a dream come true for any fun-loving kid.

For the under 2s, there’s a fully-fenced zone featuring a mini ball pit, seesaw rockers and a soft climbing obstacle for kids to clamber up and through.

Elsewhere you’ll find Pinwheel Town – a mini township, complete with a cafe, bakery, and cute little cars to cruise around the tiny roadways. Kids can even fill up at the fuel pump or take a spin through the car wash.

The main play area – known as Pinwheel Island – will delight older kids with its series of climbing obstacles, nets, rollers and slides. There’s also a trampoline and an interactive ball pit where kids are encouraged to throw balls at images as they’re projected on the wall.

Impressive play equipment aside, Pinwheel Island also holds plenty of appeal for adults. While the kids play, carers can pull up a comfy chair at one of the many tables and enjoy a coffee and snack in relative kid-free peace.

The diverse menu features wraps, toasties, Asian rice dishes, fish and chips, chicken nuggets and other tasty treats such as dumplings and spring rolls. The cake cabinet is also well stocked with a range of cakes, scones, slices, fruit salad and muffins. Drink wise there’s an array of milkshakes, juices and soft drinks, plus 1582 Coffee and a selection of tea.

For the kids, there's a choice of sandwich or rice dish, plus two sides (including both healthy and treat options) and a juice. Better still, it all comes served in a cute little car-shaped dish (and yes, there’s a colour – pink, blue and green – to suit all!).

Nice to know – Pinwheel Island Kids Café has a dedicated function room and a range of different packages to suit all your party needs.

Need to know – Socks must be worn at all times by both adults and children.
