Ole Spanish

South Bank

Updated: Jun 08, 2025

Lively tapas house, Ole is the go-to place for South Bank visitors looking for an authentic Spanish bite and a glass of Sangria, sherry or Estrella Galicia on tap.

Seating is both indoors under the ornate carved ceiling or al fresco at wooden tables or people-watching benches and with a no bookings policy, the crowds are accommodated and processed efficiently.

But it's the food here that is the drawcard – delicious plates of tapas and share plates of raciones as well as a feast-worthy paella. Beef cheeks that melt in the mouth, succulent garlic prawns, tortilla, rustic empanadas and meatballs are but some of the offerings straight out of Iberia.

From Monday to Friday it's happy hour at Ole from 3-5pm, featuring sunset tapas and sangria. Diners can enjoy $10 bites like crispy croquetas and patatas bravas while sipping on $10 sangria or a classic Margarita Romero.
