Named after Hungary's favourite spice, Rosalie’s slick all day breakfast cafe Smoked Paprika features a delectable Hungarian-flavoured menu with a creative contemporary twist.

With few Hungarian restaurants in Brisbane, Smoked Paprika, which for years operated out of Bardon, affords customers the opportunity to taste unique, traditional dishes. Using only high quality ingredients, fresh produce and free range eggs, everything is prepared on site, with the menu changing seasonally. Vegetarian and gluten free options are available.

Must try is the signature Smoked Paprika breakfast - Hungarian beef goulash with poached eggs, Hollandaise, rocket, cherry truss tomatoes and golden grilled haloumi.  Also recommended are the zucchini fritters, served with smoked salmon, avocado, sweet potato puree and crisps, poached eggs and wasabi hollandaise or crepes filled with chicken paprikash (pan fried chorizo, mushroom, capsicum, spinach, poached eggs, smoked paprika hollandaise, sweet potato puree, goats cheese).

Other delectable options include Shakshuka (Israeli baked eggs in a rich tomato and capsicum sauce with chickpeas, house spice mix, fetta, grilled halloumi, sourdough); beef brisket omelette with sweet potato, caramelised onion, spinach, capsicum, confit garlic, goats cheese, sourdough - or, for something sweet, banoffee pancake stack - chocolate chip pancakes, bananas, caramel sauce, berry compote, cookies & cream ice cream, praline and fairy floss.

Lunchtime is just as good at Smoked Paprika, with a choice of Hungarian beef goulash or burgers such as the Smoked Paprika burger, chicken schnitzel, slow cooked brisket, vegetarian or BLT. There's also quinoa or lamb salad and a delicious pulled pork sandwich.

Although the servings here are very generous, try to leave room for one of the desserts - Austrian Sacher Torte, Nutella or raspberry cheesecake or banoffee pie.

Need to know - There is also a small kids menu.
