Esk Antique & Collectable Fair
Esk
Held twice year in the pretty township of Esk, the Antique & Collectable Fair is a must-visit for lovers of all things vintage, with thousands of pieces under one roof.
Heralded by all who attend, this is one of the best vintage fairs near Brisbane, designed for you to buy, sell or have your pieces appraised.
Usually held over 2 days, there is a vast variety of dealers at this unique, country fair, and the range of items that are on offer changes with each event, meaning that no two fairs are ever identical.
You will discover beautiful pieces to bargain over, so make sure you allow time to meander and take it all in. Most stalls have EFTPOS facilities, but it doesn’t hurt to have cash, if that’s your preferred method of payment.
Lovers of antique jewellery, be prepared to marvel at the sparkle and flair of unique brooches, necklaces, rings and bracelets.
Collectors of vintage literature and limited edition and rare books, you will not be disappointed.
If your fascination is with everything military, there are usually stall holders with militia memorabilia, from toy tin tanks and army carriers, through to uniforms.
Train buffs and lovers of toy vehicles across the decades will, most likely, be besotted with the range of collectable trains, planes and automobiles.
As you wander along the aisles, it’s hard to decide where to look, with so many treasures and trinkets on display for you to admire, so make sure you don’t rush.
Homewares and crockery collectors, this is your nirvana. Think the likes of Royal Doulton, Wedgewood, Alfred Meakin and so many more… all at your fingertips.
Depending on the day, you might come across caringly-restored, vintage mechanical wind-up toys, even tiny, vintage Singer hand sewing machines or hand-painted, retro veedubs from way back when.
From small vases and trinkets, to larger reproduction furniture and statement pieces for the home, vintage shoppers and collectable connoisseurs across the decades will be impressed.
Nice to know – The same company that run this fair also run the following events around south-east Qlds: Gold Coast Antique Fair, Ipswich Antique Fair, Toowoomba Mega Antique Collectable Fair & Toowoomba Christmas Fair, North Brisbane/Morayfield Fair, and Brendale Antique Fair, so check out the next date near you and pop it in your calendar.
Need to know – There is a small entrance fee payable at the door, and if you’re in need of refreshment, there is a coffee van onsite, serving up both hot and cold beverages and light snacks. Plenty of free, onsite parking is available, too.
