Based on the classic Charles Dickens' tale, Oliver! the musical opens at Iona Performing Arts Centre, Lindum from June 18 to July 2, 2022.

Oliver Twist, a story about holding onto hope in the darkest of times, comes to life on stage with over 50 performers dancing and singing amongst a stunning stage set, and supported by a full, live orchestra.

Oliver! the Tony Award-ward winning show was one of the few musicals to win an Academy Award for Best Picture (1968) and is widely hailed as a true theatrical masterpiece by actors and audience members alike.

The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a young, malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London where he befriends the Artful Dodger and finds acceptance amongst a group of petty thieves and pickpockets led by Fagin.

However, not everyone is suited to a life of crime, and Oliver soon discovers leaving Fagin’s gang and starting anew won’t be so easy.

According to Savoyards Director, David Harrison "This production will be dark, gritty, dramatic and thoroughly entertaining. It's a classic, reimagined."
