Wu Kong Kitchen & Bar
Brisbane CBD
Wu Kong Kitchen + Bar is a Monkey King themed Chinese restaurant in Brisbane CBD, taking inspiration from the classic 16th century Chinese novel 'Journey to the West'.

The interior of the restaurant is designed with inspiration from the waterfall cave and the magical stones in the epic original Wu Kong story.

Featuring curved dining booths in undersea colours, blue glass lanterns and twinkling purple filament lights, the dining area has a magical quality, which complemented by the slick service and superb food served here.

Entrees include Peking Duck spring rolls; San Choi Bao; deep fried wonton or tofu; Shanghai hot & sour soup; or seafood & tofu soup.

On the must-try Dim Sum menu you'll find dumplings in chilli dressing; Har Gao (steamed prawn dumplings); Prawn Shumai (traditional Cantonese steamed prawn dim sum); Spanner Crab & Lobster Bisque Xiao Long Bao (steamed spanner crab dumplings filled with lobster bisque) or Wagyu Beef & Black Truffle Xiao Long Bao (steamed juicy wagyu beef dumplings infused with black truffle).

Highly recommended are the Chef's Special dishes - think Golden Crispy Prawn (crispy deep-fried prawns tossed in house special sauce; Sauteed Sichuan Pepper Chicken; Eight Treasures Tofu (famous dish south of the Yangtze River - braised tofu served with 8 different ingredients); and Plum Duck (boneless duck stir-fried with house made plum sauce).

The rest of the menu includes an extensive array of meat dishes such as black pepper beef cubes; spicy double-cooked pork belly; shredded beef in sweet & sour sauce or Kong Pao chicken; vegetables like Choy Summ in Malazhan sauce; and Wu Kong fried rice. There's also a choice of noodles including Hong Kong stir fried noodle; Char Kway Teow; Beef Brisket Lo Mein; and Cantonese Crispy Chow Mein.

Good to know - Portions are very generous and meals here are excellent quality and value for the price. There's a separate dining room near the entrance that is ideal for special occasions.
Need to know - Parking is available in nearby parking stations, with a strictly limited amount of metered parking in nearby streets.
