Anouk Cafe
Paddington
Updated: Nov 08, 2025
Anouk, one of Brisbane's longtime cafes, occupies the old Paddington apothecary in the Given Terrace eating precinct, where for years it has been serving up all-day brunch with a creative twist.
The chic inviting interior, sun-filled in the mornings, features exposed handmade brick walls and timber floors, while outside hanging ferns provide tropical green shade to the pavement tables.
More than a café, Anouk is like a local institution, serving scrumptious all-day breakfast/lunch, as well as takeaway coffee and specials to a loyal cast of regulars.
What makes Anouk stand out amongst the crowd is the fine attention to detail, from the creative beautifully-presented dishes and the perfectly-brewed coffee to the warm, attentive service.
On the breakfast menu (served until 11am) are sweet dishes like brioche French toast (caramelized apple, chai apple sauce, candied walnuts and cream), zeppole (traditional lemon ricotta doughnuts with blackberries, blackberry syrup and mascarpone) and savoury dishes such as manouch (smoked eggplant and kumura hash, flatbread, hummus, pomegranate and egg) or French omelette (with truffle oil, shaved parmesan and chive).
Meanwhile, the all-day menu features a mix of breakfast and lunch-style dishes including yakitori (sweet soy chicken and jasmine rice with 24 soy poached egg and wakame); linguine with house smoked salmon, capers, cream, 25 chilli, herbs and a squeeze of lemon; and aromatic eight hour beef cheek in red curry broth 25 with rice and fiery bean shoot herb salad.
Coffee served is well-brewed Merlo, hot chocolate with marshmallows, Chamellia Leaf Teas, yoghurt fruit smoothies, fruit shakes, muddled fruit and fizz, Australian cold press juice and home-made soft drinks. Anouk also served bubbles, rose and white wine (BYO red for a corkage charge), beer and mimosas.
Need to know - parking out the back of Anouk (entry off Guthrie St), otherwise there is plenty of on-street parking around the area.
