Mitch & Antler
Mitchelton
Mitch & Antler is a bright and breezy suburban cafe tucked away in the backstreets of Mitchelton, serving inspired all-day brunch fare.
Located on the corner of Suez and Parkview Streets, the former corner store that served the local community for over two decades, has been transformed into a modern, Southern California-inspired cafe with seating provided indoors in a cosy dining space (which can also be booked for private events) as well as undercover, alfresco (dog-friendly) dining.
Owned by Brisbane brothers and hospitality veterans, Tze-Huei and Chewie Choo, the brunch menu boasts breakfast classics with a contemporary twist like Ricotta Hotcakes with fresh banana, hazlenut praline and miso caramel, Truffle Scrambled Eggs, and M&A's Jamon Croffle - a golden croissant waffle served with perfectly poached eggs, 18 month jamon serrano, wattle seed hollandaise and bacon crumbs.
Otherwise, there are savoury dishes such as Salmon Pastrami (house-cured salmon on challah with slow egg, pickled radish, mascarpone and yuzu kosho) and Croque Madame (smoked ham, sourdough, fried egg, mustard leek cream, Manchego and Egmont cheese), and the sweetly delicious Rice Pudding made with coconut milk, roasted pineapple, raw honey and crushed macadamia.
Rounding out the all-day menu are Ricotta Gnocchi, Pickled Cauliflower Fritters and Chicken Katsu Sandos - panko fried chicken, Hokkaido milk bread, tonkatsu mayo, pickled mustard and furikake potato chips.
Mitch & Antler is child-friendly offering a menu For The Little Ones that includes eggs and soldiers, banana pancakes with honey, ham and cheese toasties, and avo on toast.
Coffee on pour is by Bowen Hills roaster Providore & Co, served along with T2 teas, Lindt hot chocolate, fresh squeezed OJ, smoothies, shakes, StrangeLove low-sugar sodas, house-made iced tea, and mocktails crafted with Seedlip alcohol-free spirits like espresso martinis and negronis.
