Hamsa Room
Paddington
Hamsa Room is an exotic little 22 seater bar, an extension of Naim Restaurant, nestled on the corner of the heritage-listed Paddington antique centre.
Patrons can take a seat in the cosy ambient interior, where a small bar trimmed with North African-inspired blue and white mosaic tiles takes centre place at the rear.
While there is no kitchen, a selection of delicious Middle-Eastern flavoured bar snacks come from Naim's kitchen just across the road on Collingwood St.
The food menu consists of snacks such as harissa-spiced popcorn, sourdough (by Riser) with black tahini butter, Tassie oysters and a selection of artisan cheeses.
Small plates to share include Shawarma Parfait, Wagyu Braseola, Harissa Prawns or Mushroom Feta and there's also a couple of with a selection of dips, falafel, olives, chickpeas, cumin gouda cheese and za'atar flatbread. And for something sweet, there is cashew cheesecake or chocolate pecan pie.
The carefully curated wine list includes Australian wines, a mix of French, Spanish and Australian bubbles as well as a couple of Coravin offerings from Victoria and Italy. Beer drinkers are well looked after too, with a Mediterranean Lager on tap, local craft beers and unique 'guest beers'.
On the small cocktail list are Mezcal Margarita; Orange Blossom Grasshopper; Saffrom Sour and classic orange or floral hibiscus Negroni as well as a PB & J Martini (peanut butter whiskey, strawberry liqueur and sweet vermouth) which you'll find on the dessert list.
Good to know - There is also a handful of mocktails, non-alcoholic beer and zero alcohol wines.
Need to know - Free on-street parking is available on Collingwood St, Latrobe Tce and other nearby streets.
