Gourmet Planet Deli & Cafe

Woolloongabba

Updated: May 16, 2025

GOURMET PLANET DELI & CAFE HAS CLOSED.

Tucked away in the Buranda commercial strip at Woolloongabba, Gourmet Planet Deli and Cafe (formerly Ruski Way) is a melting pot of Russian, Ukrainian, Latvian, Croatian, Polish and Lithuanian cuisine.

Sit in at one of the pavement tables and enjoy homemade Eastern European snacks such as borscht, crepes, traditional Russian honey cake or Ukrainian peroshki ( a savoury donut-like pastry filled with potato, cabbage or beef).

Otherwise, browse the extensive range of products - mountain tea, baskets of Russian candies and chocolates such as hazelnut-filled belochka, roasted buckwheat, preserves and spreads such as ajvar, bagels, caviar, rye bread, herrings and champagne vinegar.

Dairy and deli-wise, there’s kefir (kosher cultured milk), Moscow salami, Polish klobasky sausage and sweet spreadable Russian breakfast cheese, while the freezer is packed with pelmeni , Polish pierogi (dumplings) and peroshki.

Pelmeni, fresh deli and dairy items are made in Australia and everything else is imported.
