Church Mouse Cheese
South Brisbane
Church Mouse Cheese is a charming, mouse-hole cheese shop in South Brisbane, offering a tantalising selection of artisan cheeses and gourmet picnic provisions.
Nestled on Grey Street, the tiny shop with the pretty blue facade may be small in size but boasts an array of artisan Australian cheeses - think Woombye Ash Brie and Woodside Chevre - along with quality international cheeses, from French camembert and brie, to English aged cheddar and Italian blue cheese.
You'll also find a good selection of gourmet provisions such as premium crackers, marinated olives, pickled figs, whisky-infused apricots, pure raw honey, and chicken liver & truffle pâté.
If you're feeling peckish, Church Mouse has some delicious cheese toasties on offer, including a classic Reuben with corn beef, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut on rye; Gorgonzola blue cheese and pear with walnuts; Taleggio cheese with 'shrooms and baby spinach; and the ultimate cheese toastie - Raclette, English cheddar and Comté cheese with caramelised onion relish on white sourdough.
In addition, you'll find fresh baked bread and baguettes, buttery croissants and sweet and savoury danishes supplied by Brisbane bakery, Brasserie.
Load your picnic basket with your favourite goodies, or purchase a ready-made grazing box (filled with delectable cheeses, sliced salami, prosciutto, dips, crackers, seasonal fruit and more) to enjoy in the picturesque South Bank Parklands.
