THIS EVENT IS NOW IN THE PAST. FOR MORE GREAT THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN AND AROUND BRISBANE, PLEASE HEAD TO OUR WHAT'S ON PAGE.

Looking for the perfect day out for you and your little art-lover? Families can immerse themselves into the world of eX de Medici The Alien Others at GOMA's Children's Art Centre, until October 2, 2023.

As part of The Alien Others, young visitors can look at a fascinating display of insects on loan from the Queensland Museum, and create a postcard inspired by what they see.

Children will also be able to view two large paintings of moths by eX de Medici, which the Australian artist created after observing specimens at the CSIRO, Australia’s National Science Agency, and her own postcard drawing.

Experience eX’s work by touching a 3D reproduction of one of her paintings, and learn more about insects through a selection of books, photos and videos, and gain a greater understanding about the vital roles insects play in our world.
