Gaythorne

Behind the bright white breeze blocks, you'll find Butter, a bolt-hole cafe serving excellent espresso along with a range of gourmet toasties and more.

The cute corner cafe, off Samford Road in Gaythorne, is the brainchild of Daniel Bowles (owner of Sister in Hawthorne) and Tiger Hsu.

Tables are perched beneath yellow striped umbrellas, where patrons and their four-legged companions can settle in for a well-brewed cup of coffee, supplied by Single O, along with a selection of light eats.

The concise menu offers the quintessential avocado toast with Persian feta and smoked pepitas, yummy crumpets smothered with cinnamon butter and local honey, and Butter's signature Sausage Muffin - pork and fennel sausage patty, fried egg, American cheese and Tiger's secret sauce.

Alternatively, there's a variety of tasty toasties, from Four Cheese and Chicken Melt, to Thyme-roasted Mushroom and Pastrami. Plus, treats for furry customers.

Besides coffee, there are Hrvst St cold pressed juices and StrangeLove all-natural sodas.
