Istanbul 1923

Kedron

Istanbul 1923 brings an authentic taste of Turkey to Kedon, having relocated their popular Turkish restaurant from New Farm in late 2023.

Located on Gympie Rd, Istanbul 1923 occupies a cavernous corner space in a small line-up of eateries and shops.

The bright roomy casual restaurant has polished floors and walls decorated with Turkish ornaments and pictures, with plenty of space for prams/ wheelchairs etc.

The extensive menu includes a range of dips (Including spicy Anatolian, hummus & cacik); dolma, sigara Burek (Turkish cheese roll); lentil soup, grilled haloumi; and Istanbul or chicken salad.

Large plates include a selection of chargrilled kebabs (kuzu shish, chicken shish, adana, lamb cutlets or mixed grill) all served with rice, salad, bread, mashed potato and garlic sauce.

There's also a choice of sucuk, chicken & mushroom, spinach & feta or mixed vegetable pide; gourmet dishes such as lamb or chicken guvec and moussaka; or grilled barramundi with chips and salad.

For dessert there's a choice of baklava, Turkish delight; and chef's special and there are also a handful of kids meals, all served with chips.

Need to know - There is plenty of free parking onsite.

At the time of visiting in November 2023, Istanbul 1923 were waiting a liquor licence.
