Tingalpa Creek Reserve

Walk

Updated: Nov 13, 2020

This easy bush circuit of around 2km return embraces both the scenic and secluded banks of Tingalpa Creek with its fishing outposts and marshes as well as paperbark and eucalypt forest. It is also one of the area’s less trampled although horse riders use some of the tracks. After wet weather tracks can become mud and slush infested so at such times gumboots or avoidance are recommended.

Start at the far end of Chadwell St where it meets the creek, with a canoe launching ramp to the left. At the start of the walking tracks are a small cluster of picnic tables and a barbecue – from here take the Creek Circuit, the most picturesque of the tracks.

The walk is well signposted, initially following the serene waterway where fishermen try their luck at mud crabbing, before veering into the aforementioned bush. Paths are wide and generally fairly obstacle free although walking shoes are advisable.

On the last sector, take the Chadwick St Picnic Area route as opposed to the Chadwick St route or you’ll emerge at the road a long stretch from the car park.
