Bonnie Doon Public House
Fortitude Valley
Updated: Jun 23, 2025
Bonnie Doon Public House is a convivial character-filled 2-storey bar occupying an historic corner shop on Brunswick St Fortitude Valley.

The perfect place for a laidback drink with pals, Bonnie Doon feels like a home away from home, serving up craft beers, wine and epic cocktails with a side of warm hospitality.

Patrons can take a seat in the main bar area downstairs, or one of the other nooks and crannies on that level, as well as the lounge bar upstairs or the wraparound verandah.

As well as the selection of craft beers on tap, Bonnie Doon has a carefully curated wine list of boutique wines that you won't find elsewhere but you'll want to try, like Emmalane Sauvignon Blanc, Ministry of Clouds Rosé, Moondarra Funkosity Pinot Noir.

Meanwhile their signature cocktails are next level, with choices like Second Summer (pomegranate vodka, mango liqueur, lemon juice, rosemary & soda); Nut Job (dark rum, Brookies Macadamia, espresso & macadamia syrup) ;and Prima Pavlova (Pavlova gin, butterscotch liqueur, passionfruit & lemon juice).

Meanwhile the food menu offers a creative twist on old school Aussie cuisine - think house-baked damper with butter, vegemite or honey; devilled eggs with curry and mountain pepper mayo & chives; lamb and rosemary sausage roll with tomato and mint relish; Dagwood dogs (cheerios dipped and fried, with tomato sauce); Bug sando's (battered bug tail, lettuce and lemon pepper tartare); and, for something sweet, banana jaffles, fairy bread or pineapple fritters.

Good to know - on weekends there's a DJ in the house, spinning vinyl. Bonnie Doon occupiies the character-filled building that used to be Bloodhound Bar.
Need to know - there is limited onstreet parking nearby.
