Redlands Indigiscapes Centre

Capalaba

Updated: Sep 06, 2025

Redland Indigiscapes Centre is a delightful arboretum where everything is native, right down to the bush herbs incorporated into the on-site cafe menu.

Those wanting inspiration for home gardens can meander amongst the themed mini gardens, from the grey gum or wild herb gardens to the rainforest or scribbly gum gardens while children let off steam in the nearby maze, sandpit or play equipment.

There are picnic tables under the gum trees or lemon myrtle scones or stockman’s burgers with bush tomato relish to be had in the cafe pavilion. Three short easy walking trails (two are suitable for wheelchairs) wind through the forest of she oaks and scribbly gums around a lake which is home to water birds or a wildflower trail.

Don’t miss the gargantuan gnarled 400 year old tallow wood tree (which is fenced and adjacent to the pond) – it is the only one remaining from the days of timber felling in the 19th century. Struck by lightning 250 years ago it grew back deformed so was spared by loggers.

Not only does the centre cater well for children (the café has plenty of wildlife activity books, paper & colouring pencils), it is dog-friendly.

Dogs are welcome to be walked on leash through the bush trails and there are plenty of shady spots to tie the dog whilst having a bite to eat and dog bowls are even provided at the entrance to the themed gardens.
