Mr Mista is Fortitude Valley’s glamorous Hollywood-inspired bar eatery featuring sunken green velvet lounges and serving killer cocktails and divine South East Asian cuisine until late.
The lively split-level venue offers all kinds of nooks and crannies to enjoy a drink and bite to eat by day and evening and on weekend nights part of the floor gets cleared for dancing.
House cocktails are numbered 1 to 12, each featuring a different spirit, with temptations like no 8 (Kerradura silver tequila, passionfruit, lemongrass and lemon or no 12 (Belvedere vodka, blue curacao, cranberry and pineapple). There’s also a range of classic and contemporary cocktails, as well as an impressive selection of wines, spirits, beers and liqueurs.
Food here at Mr Mista is a real hit and worth travelling for, starting with bar snacks (The Opening Act) such as pork and prawn gyoza, chicken karaage and caremilzede pineapple bao sliders or mini lemongrass beef banh mi.
Small share plates (The Guest List) include coconut-poached chicken with Vietnamese slaw and candied peanuts, betel leaf rolls with wagyu mince or crisp tofu with miso eggplant, chilli caramel and wakame salad.
Meanwhile, large plates (The Headliners) include Billionaire fried rice with dried scallops and crab claw meat, smoked Massaman beef curry with peanuts, chilli and lime, crispy chicken wings, or yellow curry with young coconut, snake beans and either tiger prawns or pumpkin and eggplant.
And for dessert (The After Party) there’s Chinese doughnuts with salted soy caramel and vanilla bean ice-cream, Pandan cheesecake with candied jackfruit and purple yam ice-cream, orange jaffa custard with milk tea jelly and black sesame ice-cream or a selection of Mr Mista’s own sorbets and ice-creams.
Nice to know – Mr Mista has a great range of function spaces available, ranging from the ‘Yes Boss’ booths for up to 8 and The Massage Lounge for up to 12 through to the VIP Longtime Loft (up to 18) and the whole venue (for 50-200 guests).
