Buckle up for a weekend of high-flying excitement at the Planes, Trains and Autos Festival, set to take over the City of Ipswich from 3-5 May, 2025.

Diesel Powered Train - PTA

Hero event ‘Fully Charged’ returns celebrating all things aviation, rail, autos and more. Look to the sky for thrilling aerobatic displays, while on the ground rev up your excitement with many interactive exhibits at Queensland Museum Rail Workshops. Top the day off by taking a QPSR train ride on a heritage diesel powered engine, perfect for a nostalgic day out.

Pointing at the Sky - PTA

Saturday evening visit Nicholas Street Precinct for Park and Pose, the street will be filled with classic and muscle cars to relish whilst enjoying electric go karts, live music and nearby restaurants.

Vintage Car - PTA

The fun continues Sunday with the opportunity to ride on a scaled down locomotive at the Grandchester Model Live Steam Association Running Day. If fast is more your pace, head to the Mustang Car Show at Hotel Commonwealth to see the vintage beauties.

To finish the weekend in style, Retro Picnic on Monday is a must! An epic day filled with rock and roll music and dancing, classic cars, bikes, vintage stalls, and food trucks. Discover all that Ipswich has to offer during Planes, Trains and Autos.

The full 2025 Planes, Trains and Autos Festival program runs from Saturday 3 May to Monday 5 May, make a weekend of it and immerse yourself in all that is on offer.

Good to know - Elements of Fully Charged will be noisy, have very low light, be bright and may flash. Noise cancelling headphones advised. A Chill Out Zone will be available.

Need to know - A free shuttle bus is available from two park 'n' ride locations to Queensland Museum Rail Workshops and back via a historic bus for Fully Charged, approximately every 30 minutes from 8.30 am - 4.30 pm. Visit Planestrainsautos.com.au for locations.
