Mama's Place

Springwood

MAMA'S PLACE HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED IN 2023.

Mama's Place is a little slice of Romania bringing a taste of Transylvania to the southside of Brisbane in Springwood.

This hidden gem of an Eastern European cafe, found tucked away in the corner of a shopping centre on Dennis Road, is family-owned and operated with the matriarch, Mama, deciding the menu on the day (with the exception of breakfast).

Mama's Place, Springwood

The breakfast menu features favourites like eggs benedict and bacon and eggs on toast plus a Romanian-style breakfast of creamed spinach and fried eggs on toast, while hearty appetites can tuck into Mama's Big Breakfast of house-made sausages, fried eggs, olives, feta and polenta with sour cream.

For a real treat, try Mama's home-made donuts (gogosi) best accompanied with a well-brewed cup of Aroma coffee or loose-leaf tea.

Lunch options vary from day to day, depending on what Mama feels like making, but includes the likes of lasagne, meatball and vegetable soup, and langosi - delicious fried dough filled with feta cheese.

For an authentic Romanian experience, visit on Saturday evening when Mama dishes up delicious Romanian fare - from home made garlicky grilled sausages and cabbage rolls to her signature tripe soup.
