Bird's Nest Yakitori is a lively slice of Japan located on the corner of Everton Plaza's dining precinct Park Lane.

Customers can take a seat outside on the paved terrace, where there are two separate dining sections, on the bar style seats in front of the kitchen or inside next to the bar and enjoy the warm hospitality and delicious food.

Whist yakitori (Japanese grilled skewers) are the house specialty (and highly recommended) there's plenty of other dishes on the eclectic menu.

The menu is designed to share, starting with 'nibbles' like edamame, renkon chips and torikawa senbei (crispy chicken skin chips with mayo & lemon) and 'signature sides' such as Tori karaage (Bird's Nest famous crispy chicken thigh with mild wasabi mayo) and pan fried pork gyoza.

Raw dishes include tuna tataki, aburi king fish, hotate crudo (thin sliced Japanese scallops with ponzu sauce) and sashimi moriawase (daily assorted fresh sashimi), while rice dishes include sizzling garlic rice and onigiri (grilled rice ball).

There's also a small selection of street food, including bao buns (crispy chicken karaage, pork belly or tofu); yakisoba (Japanese stir fried noodles) abd sticky chicken wings (crispy fried in sticky sweet soy sauce).

Not to be missed are the yakitori, with a wide assortment of meat skewers including chicken thigh, wing, tenderloin or crispy chicken skin; pork belly with sweet miso and mustard; and Italian (boconcini cheese & tomato wrapped in sliced pork belly, with basil sauce and cracked pepper.

There's also veggie skewers (mushroom or zucchini) and 'grilled specialty' skewers, including Jack's Creek wagyu steak; Atlantic salmon; reef and beef (beef & garlic prawns); chargrilled octopus; kakuni (slow-braised pork belly) or garlic prawns.

On the drinks list there's a choice of Japanese beers, yuzu (fruit liquor), shochu (spirits), sake, Japanese and classic cocktails, Japanese whiskey, gin & vodka and a small list of wines.

Need to know - There is a limited amount of free off-street parking surrounding Everton Plaza, with the nearest car park to Bird's Nest off Stafford Rd.
