The Workshops Rail Museum

Kids can unleash their inner scientist at The Workshops Rail Museum's fabulous new Sciencentre.

Here in this fun and experience-rich environment they can nurture their curiosity, ask questions, test their ideas and use their imagination.

Find out more about the science behind train travel, challenge your friends, solve puzzles and learn how science is a part of the things we do every day.

Engage with the exciting world of science through play with over 20 interactive stations including:

Rising spark – how far can the electrical spark jump?
Magnetic shuttle – move the ring without touching it.
Convection currents – how does heat make water flow?
Train wheels – which set of wheels will stay on the track?
Catenary arch – build a stable arch without glue or nails.

*The Workshops Rail Museum is closed on Good Friday, Anzac Day, Christmas and Boxing Day.

Need to know - Entry to Sciencentre is free with Museum admission. Visit as many times as you like in one year by purchasing an Annual Pass.
