Scenic Rim Brewery
Mt Alford
Scenic Rim Brewery, housed in a heritage-listed general store in the small country town of Mount Alford, is a boutique brewery and café, offering quality craft beer, homemade cakes and country hospitality.
Found in the picturesque Scenic Rim region, about one and a half hours drive from Brisbane, the owners have restored Mt Alford’s old corner shop to its former glory with polished timber floorboards, vaulted ceilings and shelves lined with jams, chutneys and relishes crafted by local providores.
Patrons can sit inside the charming, old world space or outside on the back deck overlooking the rolling hills and pretty countryside.
This microbrewery brews beer on site, including Digga’s Pale Ale, Fat Man Maroon Ale, Shazza Mid-Strength Ale and Giddy Gout Milk Stout. Besides beer, there’s Frank’s award-winning Tasmania cider (apple, pear and cherry) and an old-fashioned shandy (your choice of Scenic Rim beer with lemonade) as well as wine, spirits, coffee, tea and cold drinks.
Part brewery, part café, customers can enjoy a cup of Di Bella coffee with a slice of chocolate mud cake, citrus tart or freshly baked scone with jam and cream or a cheese and crackers nibble plate.
The remainder of the menu has a European flavour with tasty options such as Bitterballen, Oma’s special Dutch beef croquettes, tWurst platter, cheese kransky hotdogs with beetroot relish and coleslaw or Food of the Gods – Chico roll with fresh tomato, avocado and chilli sauce.
There's also desserts like Lick! Beer Ice-cream and Speculaas (Dutch) Ice cream sandwich.
