Avocado Sunset B&b

Mt Tamborine

Avocado Sunset B&B on Tamborine Mountain is a retreat that has it all: luxury, views to die for, fine food, a peaceful location and warm and generous hospitality from hosts Cheryl and Richard.

Step through the front door here and leave the real world behind as relaxation music drifts through the sumptuous lounge room and your luxury accommodation beckons. There are four individually themed rooms at this B&B - the Daintree, Safari, Oriental and Mediterranean rooms.

Each is beautifully decorated with its own unique feature, be it stunning views, private lounge area, cosy fireplace, a claw foot bath or large deck. Both the Daintree and Safari rooms enjoy breathtaking views - guests can relax in the double spas and soak up the panorama and tranquility. And with complimentary luxury toiletries and robes provided, who wouldn't be tempted to light the candles, pour the bubbly and reach for the bubble bath?

Whether it's a romantic weekend or rest and relaxation that guests are seeking, Avocado Sunset B&B is an idyllic destination. Cheryl says their guests range from P platers to 80 year old honeymooners - there's something for everyone. Each room has its own DVD player and LED television, tea and coffee making facilities, bar fridge, glasses, kettle, crockery and cutlery. Extra touches here include complimentary bottles of water, soft drinks, chocolate and biscuits.  A large DVD library in the guest lounge covers all genres and is also complimentary.

An ideally appointed deck at the back of the property is the place to be at the end of the day and is the perfect spot to watch the dazzling sunsets. Looking across the valley to Mt Barney and out to the Great Dividing Range, guests are treated to a view that would be hard to beat.

Even if Mother Nature doesn't turn on the perfect sunset, just sitting and watching the clouds roll by and storms build is a real treat. As the sun goes down, the lounge comes to life with flickering tea lights and in cooler months, the fireplace is lit. The temptation to sink into one of the sofas with a good book is overwhelming. A variety of birdlife can be spotted darting in and out of the rainforest, enjoying the sun on a branch of the magnificent old gum tree or shooting the thermals. Keep an eye out for the wedge-tail eagles that regularly soar in the skies above.

Included in a stay here is a daily hot and cold breakfast, prepared by Cheryl. Guests gather around a beautifully set dining table where Richard ensures that everyone is comfortable and familiar with everything on offer.

This is a great opportunity to meet fellow guests and get the day off to a great start.  Juice, cereal, toast, yoghurt, fresh fruit, Bircher muesli and granola are followed by a hot breakfast, chosen from the breakfast menu. Eggs are fresh from "the girls" (visitors will meet these friendly hens on a walk around the B&B's lovely garden) and the avocados, of course, are grown on the property.

A walk through the avocado grove will also reveal the grotto, complete with cave and the rustic owl barn. Tea and coffee round off the first meal of the day and then it's up to guests to decide how they'll spend their day.

Richard and Cheryl support local businesses and are very much a part of the Tamborine community. They are happy to suggest places to see and things to do during a stay with them. Restaurants, cafes, shopping, wineries, hikes, bush walks, a must do distillery, the skywalk, waterfalls, hang gliding (watching or doing), a brewery, cheese tasting and more are just a short drive away.

Coming from the "dinner party era", Richard and Cheryl both enjoy cooking and entertaining and liken the breakfast experience to "a dinner party at breakfast". Gather a group of friends or family members and book all four rooms and at extra cost Cheryl and Richard will treat the group to an exclusive three course dinner party. Champagne breakfasts and cheese platters for two can be pre-ordered when booking.

Nice to know - Avocado Sunset B&B is also available for intimate weddings, wedding accommodation and photography.

Need to know - This property is not suitable for children.  On-site parking is not under cover.
