Anduramba Homestead B&b

Crows Nest

Updated: Mar 11, 2023

This lovely B&B is currently not taking bookings. We will let you know when that changes.

Anduramba Homestead B&B, circa 1907, is an impressive sight, with a stunning formal garden at its entrance that hints at what lays within this historic High Country home near Crows Nest.

Federation features, period furniture and fine bone china await guests, who, upon arrival, are offered a complimentary afternoon tea which is enjoyed on the homestead's cool verandah.

In the entry a vase of exquisite proteas from the property's protea farm sits on the hall table, catching the eye whilst gleaming timber floors lead into the house.

Guests have a choice of two Queen bedrooms and for those travelling with children, there is also a single room with 2 single beds. All rooms are tastefully decorated and offer a peaceful and comfortable night's sleep. The Queen bedrooms look out onto the homestead's wide verandahs, perfectly furnished for relaxation and enjoying the cooling breezes. A country styled guest bathroom is situated close to the rooms and offers guests the opportunity to relax in a large claw foot bath.

A formal lounge room boasts beautiful leather lounges and a fireplace for cooler months and complimentary port is offered here. The formal dining room showcases a period dining setting and is where guests can enjoy their breakfast, served on Royal Albert Old Country Roses fine bone china. Australian artwork features on the walls in these rooms - be sure to check it out.

Hosts, Sandra and Andrew Jenner extend warm hospitality and join guests for a glass of wine (from local winery, Holland Wines) and a cheese platter on their deck, later in the afternoon. From this deck sweeping views can be enjoyed as visitors relax and enjoy a local drop.

Guests are encouraged to bring supplies for a BBQ dinner - everything needed can be purchased in town, including great meat from the local butcher. A guest BBQ is located on the verandah, making meal time a breeze. Alternatively, guests can drive back into town for a meal.

Breakfasts here are hearty and generous, including locally smoked bacon, poached eggs, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, haloumi, local lamb sausages, hash browns, toast, freshly squeezed orange juice, tea and coffee.  This amazing spread may prove too much for some and if so, Sandra will happily prepare a lighter breakfast, just let her know the night before.

There's plenty to see and do in this region, but the beautiful gardens here with their many quiet spots may prove too tempting for some. It's very easy to relax into all that Anduramba Homestead has to offer. Enjoy the wildlife, roam amongst the proteas or find a favourite spot in the garden and finish that book. It's unlikely guests will be lonely here as the family's friendly dogs and cat are never far away and enjoy the extra attention.
