MoB School Holidays

Museum of Brisbane

Museum of Brisbane is set to transform its award-winning exhibition The Storytellers into a cool, creative playground this summer school holiday, with non-stop fun for all ages.

Forget what you know about a traditional museum experience in MoB's new one-of-a-kind interactive exhibition, The Storytellers: Next Chapter, where children of all ages are encouraged to draw on the walls.

Step inside a life-sized story book, add your own unique sunflower to the handmade sunflower field, and help a flock of feathery Ibis take over Brisbane when creativity, colour and crafting chaos takes over the Museum throughout the school holidays.

Activities in The Storytellers: Next Chapter include adding graffiti to a tiny cell inside Boggo Road Gaol, planting a handmade fabric sunflower in the field of sunflowers, and stepping inside a life-sized colouring-in book where you can add colour and pattern to the black and white interior of a dilapidated Queenslander, bringing back life to an old beauty, inspired by a Nick Earls short story.

Other highlights include Flood Memories, a place where you can take a quiet moment to tell your stories or draw a memory of when the water rose, and Retro Interior, a huge collage of everything retro in a mash-up of mid-century pattern and colour.

Let your imagination run wild and help Museum of Brisbane bring The Storytellers to life.
