Young Historians Festival

Newstead House

Brisbane City Council invites young historians and their families  to the Young Historians Festival - a fantastic, free, fun day out at Brisbane's oldest surviving residence, Newstead House, on Sunday, July 7.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the young and the young-at-heart to discover the grace and charm of this grand old home and find out what life was like in the early colonial days before electricity. Experience life from a time gone by, cultivate curiosity, learn and play.

Young Historians Festival, Newstead House

Perfect for families with children aged 5+, the jam-packed program includes heritage games, craft activities, musical performances, pop-up theatre, circus and dance.

Bring a picnic to enjoy on the lawn at Newstead House with sweeping views of the Brisbane River, or sample some tasty food from Brisbane’s best food trucks.
