Australia Independent Film Festival |AIFF| returns to Metro Arts, West End bigger and better than ever from October 27-29, showcasing the very best Australian and international short films, documentaries, animations, experimental films and more.
Join filmmakers and film lovers for one of Queensland's biggest annual celebrations of independent cinema, as AIFF gives you the chance to watch amazing films that you generally do not see anywhere but at a film festival. Mingle with like-minded individuals and enjoy networking opportunities.
AROUND THE WORLD - Dark, edgy, very Halloween, and definitely Adults Only, with a mix of styles and genres that push the boundaries from Queensland all the way to the other side, with a few chilling stopovers on the way.
SEQ FUTURE STARS - AIFF is proud to present a screening session of the very best short films from Southeast Queensland high school students in Grades 10 to 12. In a first for a SEQ STUDENT film festival category, a panel of industry professionals and respected community members will adjudicate each finalist film as it is live screened. Join these budding filmmakers of tomorrow in what’s sure to be a cracker of a show. The session will conclude with a very special awards ceremony.
KEEPING IT REAL - Documentary lovers, this session is for you - an afternoon dedicated to some amazing true stories sourced from all corners of the globe, as well as a few from our own backyard. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to see some unique stories on screen.
AROUND THE WORLD 2 - Travel the world again with AIFF23's last session of international shorts including a mix of styles and genres that takes you from the US all the way to..., with a few stopovers along the way.
HOME GROWN AUSTRALIAN SHORTS - Last but definitely not least, AIFF23 will present some of the very best shorts from Brisbane, Queensland and across this great land. With a session full of thought-provoking stories, the festival will finish on a high. Straight after the screening, celebrate the best of the best with AIFF'S awards ceremony before heading to The Boundary Hotel to send off AIFF23 in style.
Good to know - Metro Arts is a licensed venue. Session time length is approximate. Films may contain some coarse language, implied drug usage, nudity, or mild violence, and are recommended for a mature aged audience.
Need to know - Adult tickets are just $15 plus booking fee. Tickets are available online, over the phone (07) 3002 7100 (during business hours 10am-4pm weekdays) and at the box office and bar one hour prior to the event (availability permitting).
