Cooly Rocks On

Cooly Rocks On is Australia’s coolest rock 'n' roll nostalgia festival celebrating everything there is to love about the 50s, 60s and 70s, held at the stunning coastal town of Coolangatta.

Be transported back in time at this fab five-day festival as Cooly Rocks On takes over the Southern Gold Coast from June 5 to 9, set on outdoor stages, streets and parks within the beachside streetscape of iconic Coolangatta.

Everyone's favourite events are back including the Show ’n' Shine classic cars, Poodle and Pug Parade, Miss Cooly Rocks On and Miss Rockabilly pageants, dance displays, retro markets and more. 

Hundreds of classic cars from the 50s, 60s and up to the late 70s will line the street, from cadillacs and corvettes to vintage caravans, leading up to the signature Street Parade which stretches along the beach front for 2km with spectators lining-up to see the vintage cars cruise by.

One of the festivals drawcards is the live entertainment with ​​​​​​rock 'n' roll, rockabilly and swing filling the air with cool tunes from the 50s through to the early 70s. The dance floor will be pumping with the jitterbug, the jive, the boogie woogie, the twist and the hustle. 

Retro markets and food vendors will be active beside the beach, within walking distance of all the action, with roving street performers adding to the exciting festival feeling.
