Miranda Tapsell: Top End Girl

Join Miranda Tapsell for an intimate afternoon at Brisbane Powerhouse on Sunday, May 10 as the star of stage and screen discusses her powerful new memoir, Top End Girl.   

Joined by ABC Radio's Rhianna Patrick, the pair will look back on Miranda's successful career, with insights into movie-making and memoir writing, and open a conversation about the negative narrative that has been curated about Aboriginal people.

Miranda shot to fame in the much-loved movie The Sapphires, followed by a Logie award-winning performance in the television series Love Child, before taking on the roles of writer, producer and star of the box office hit, Top End Wedding.

As a woman of colour and proud Larrakia and Tiwi woman, Miranda feels she has to push for change. In Top End Girl, Miranda shows us the power of storytelling to reform attitudes and expectations, and what we all need to understand so that things can change.
