Opera Queensland Costume Display

Updated: May 12, 2025
Eight enchanting costumes from Opera Queensland's La Cenerentola (Cinderella) production are on display in a stunning exhibition at Brisbane Quarter from May 6 to June 1.

This FREE exhibition, located at Podium 1, Atrium, offers visitors a rare opportunity to view the extraordinary craftsmanship behind one of Opera Queensland’s most visually stunning operas this year.

Blending fairytale romance with high fashion flair, La Cenerentola’s costumes were created by Opera Queensland designers Karen Cochet and Bianca Bulley. Experience the theatrical magic up close, including Cinderella’s glittering four-layered ball gown, an extravagant rose-adorned cape, and Don Magnifico’s flamboyant floral suit by Alexander McQueen, the same iconic design once worn by Timothée Chalamet

Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the theatrical storytelling woven through these garments, each reflecting the fusion of nature, fantasy, and human transformation at the heart of Rossini’s opera.

Head upstairs before or after seeing the installation to dine at one of Brisbane Quarter's restaurants (Brisbane Phoenix, Persone, Phat Boy, Tenya and The Lex), to top off your visit to Brisbane Quarter!
