'The Godfather' meets 'The Haunting of Hill House' in Portraits, a searing new Australian drama playing at The Old Museum, Bowen Hills for 2 performances only on Friday, October 1 and Saturday, October 2, 2021.

Portraits is a site-specific production at the historic Old Museum, which transforms into the gloomy Godbold mansion, featuring an immersive 360-degree surround sound design, and a stellar cast of Brisbane locals: Emile Regano, Rebecca Day, James Hogan and Robert Wainwright.

Youngest child Martin Godbold has been living in the shadow of his philanthropist father, and now it’s time for him to take his rightful place in the family company. But as a criminal investigation looms and familiar faces appear on their doorstep, old ghosts and loyalties threaten to tumble the Godbold’s now crumbling empire.

This dramatic thriller dares to ask: what are we made of? Who will carry the torch when no one else will? And what do we truly owe the ones who came before us?

Good to know - Portraits is presented by Observatory Theatre, a new independent theatre based in Brisbane, presenting a new wave of performance for 'experience' seeking audiences.

Need to know - Portraits is recommended for ages 15+ as it contains strong language, stage violence and references to domestic abuse.

Observatory Theatre is a valued partner of Must Do Brisbane.com
