Woolloongabba

The Tailors is a mysterious speakeasy style bar hidden behind Rodriguez & Co tailors shop in the historic antique precinct of Woolloongabba.

Entry is via the dressing room mirror, which swings open, revealing the secret bar behind.

Taking its name from the shopfront, which itself is simply a facade evoking the old world of gentleman's sartorial suit and alterations businesses, The Tailors is a cosy Latin-American inspired cocktail and rum bar, with live music on Friday nights.

Take a seat on the royal blue banquette that lines one wall or at one of the bar stools along the other and settle in for a rum-flavoured cocktail and, later at night on Fridays, a side of latino-style live jazz.

The drinks menu features some 40 types of rum, including some from the Caribbean and Latin America, and this carries over to the concise cocktail list which features signature creations like Queen Anne's Revenge (aged rum, banana liqueur and banana prosecco) and Paradise Love (spiced rum, cognac, strawberry, vanilla, raspberry and lemon).
