Brat Haus German Sausages

Petrie Terrace

BRAT HAUS HAS CLOSED ITS CAXTON ST PETRIE TERRACE STORE.

Brat Haus is the best kept secret on Caxton St and one of the only places in Brisbane to get a decent gourmet snack after midnight on a weekend.

From within their slick hole-in-the-wall sausage hut Ben and his dad (a butcher who makes the sausages himself and who has spent the better part of a decade perfecting the art with the help of a Hungarian colleague) peddle a fresh delicious range of German hot dogs and some of the best fresh pretzels around.

Drop by day or night for a fix of the house favourite , the Spicy Knackwurst or branch out to the flavoursome Curry Wurst (sliced sausage served with traditional curry sauce on a plate), Cheese Kranski, Frankfurter Classic or Grilled Bratwurst (or for vegetarians there's the Vegan option), on a fresh baked bread roll. All come in generous proportions and served with sauerkraut or fried onions, Spicy or traditional Curry ketchup.

Need to know: children are catered for too here, with a $7 Kids' Kranski.
