Ed Café

Brisbane Cbd

Updated: Nov 18, 2018

ED Café is bringing suburban café vibes to the centre of Brisbane’s CBD, with its parkside eatery nestled on the corner of Edward Street and Wickham Terrace.

The tranquil cafe provides an escape from the bustling city life with its expansive leafy wall mural and cosy eating nooks. There’s large communal tables, low coffee tables, dining booths and bar seating. The bar seating even has power and USB ports, ideal for those wanting to work away from the office.

Not only is the café a dining hotspot, it’s also got its own takeaway counter for food on the go, as well as a hole-in-the-wall coffee counter.

The menu is abundant with tasty dishes, inspired somewhat by the owner’s other venue, The Smug Fig. For breakfast, their smashed avocado is quite the winner – featuring a generous serving of haloumi, a delicious homemade tapenade and blistered tomatoes.

ED Café is also pleasing acai lovers with their colourful bowls topped with oats, coconut, goji berries and an assortment of fruit.

For lunch, give their veggie burger a go – packed with a quinoa crusted mushroom, beetroot hummus, haloumi and an Asian slaw.

Coffee is of course on the menu, in all types of hot and cold preferences, alongside teas, and cold-pressed juices. Although, their smoothies are definitely a must do – the green smoothie is particularly tasty, and it’s packed with goodness.

Need to know – Public transport hubs are nearby.

Nice to know – Acai bowls and takeaway food can be purchased from the hole in the wall coffee counter.
