Ion Cafe & Bar in Mitchelton occupies a classic Queensland worker's cottage with an outdoor deck which is the perfect space to enjoy a healthy brunch, lunch or dinner.
The spacious deck overlooks bushland and features a wooden bar which comes to life on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
A variety of all day breakfast options at Ion Cafe & Bar include avocado on house-made pumpkin bread, the healthy start (poached egg, dukkah, avocado, smoked salmon and mushrooms on sourdough), corn fritters with avo, sour cream and salsa, or waffles with nutella, strawberries and cream or maple and bacon,
Alternatively, for lunch (11.30am - 2pm) there are cheese burgers, chicken burgers, soft tacos or eggs benny bagels. There are also many take away options such as ham and cheese croissants, muffins, banana bread and brownies. All meals can be accompanied by a range of fresh smoothies, juices, TWG teas and single origin Colombian coffee.
Evening dining comes in the form of Latin American inspired tapas - grilled Harvey Bay scallops, coxinha (Brazilian chicken dumplings)and fried beef and rosemary pastels. In addition, boutique wines and several local beers (including Newstead Brewing Co) are also available on tap from Thursday to Saturday nights.
